Problem
Restaurants needed a simple digital platform for QR-code table ordering and live order status, without relying on wait staff to relay updates manually.
Solution
Built a Django web application with QR-code-based table ordering, Socket.io for real-time order updates, HTML templates, and a SQLite database. Deployment configs for Netlify and Render are set up but not yet live.
System Architecture & Data Pipeline
Real-Time Architecture: Scanned QR token validation on a Django MVC backend with SQLite state machine, using bi-directional Socket.io channels for instant live status broadcasts between kitchen and diner.
Highlights
- Built QR-code-based table ordering so customers can order directly from their phones.
- Used Socket.io for real-time order status updates between kitchen and table.
- Deployment configs for Netlify and Render are ready; not yet live.
