Marketplace Platform

CampusLoop

A university marketplace built collaboratively: I drove the frontend development while integrating with a Node.js/Express backend.

Problem

University students needed a reliable, fast platform for buying and selling within campus, one that could handle concurrent users without security compromises or slow media uploads.

Solution

Collaborated in a two-person team where I drove frontend development while deeply integrating with a Node.js/Express backend featuring MySQL connection pooling, JWT/bcrypt authentication, and a custom Multer image-upload pipeline.

System Architecture & Data Pipeline

Architecture flow: Client React frontend communicates via Axios/JWT with an Express.js API gateway, utilizing a custom Multer image compression pipeline and a high-performance MySQL connection pool for sub-200ms latency.

Highlights

  • Built the frontend for a university marketplace as part of a two-person team.
  • Teammate built the backend: 8+ REST APIs with MySQL connection pooling, JWT/bcrypt auth, and a custom Multer image pipeline cutting storage overhead by 40%.
  • Team project, not solo. Frontend was my contribution; the backend above was built by my teammate.

Impact

Shipped a university marketplace as a two-person team. My teammate's backend delivered 8+ REST APIs with sub-200ms response time, JWT/bcrypt auth, and a Multer image pipeline that cut storage overhead by 40%.
